The Timpson Family originated in Northamtonshire, England.

The family history starts with Henry Timpson, born in Ringstead in Northamptonshire in 1789. Henry marries Ann Eagle and they have six children; Frances, Mary Ann, Thomas, John, Henry, who dies, and another Henry. This last Henry (TE6) is the main character in the move to New Zealand.
