Branches of the Timpson Family

Not all those featured in the Timpson story are Timpsons. Frances Timpson married William Groome. William and his son WHC Groome have their own facinating history.

The Groome Family

Frances Timpson was the eldest child of Henry Timpson and Ann Eagle. Frances was born in 1818 and eventually married William Charles Groome.

The couple had three children including William Henry Charles Groome, born 1854. William Henry Charles Groome led an interesting and diverse life. Learn more about WHC Groome’s life.

Article about WHC Groome William’s health had not been good and in October 1913 William and Eliza took rooms at 9 Grafton Street, Brighton in the hope that the sea air would help William recover. Unfortunately he did not recover and passed away there on 24 October 1913. He was buried at Hanwell Cemetery, City of Westminster, London on 27 October 1913.
